Unexpected Journeys - Class One
5:30-6:30 p.m. MDT
Wednesdays March 23rd-April 27th 2022
7:30-8:30 p.m. Eastern Time / 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mountain Time
Join us as we explore unexpected personal journeys that characters face in scenes from major operas, providing a taste of what opera is like and how it works. We will explore themes included but not limited to resilience, connection, faith, guardianship, loneliness, humor and love. This six week program is designed for adult learners, but open to participants of all ages.
Admission fee for this course is $10/class or $30 for all 6 classes*. You are welcome to attend and to pay on a class by class basis.
If you refer a friend who joins us, you each get to attend a class for free! Just make sure your friend lists your name on the registration form.
*Financial aid is available to anyone in need, no questions asked.
This class will explore the human instinct to sing, act, and listen, as channelled through the dawn of opera and early operas including Jacopo Peri's "Euridice."
